Scope:
Detail engineering support for Mechanical Deliverables of Carbon Black Plant of 1,40,000 TPA capacity
1) MR Preparation for different packages (Bag Collector, tank farm, Pumps, Dryer unit, Silos, Bucket elevator, Screw Conveyor, Air Compressors, Heat Exchanges and Vessels)
2) Technical Bid Evaluation.
3) Vendor Document Review.
The project was a 6000 manhour job requiring complete mechanical design and engineering support from start to end of the project with complete ownership of the deliverables. The project was divided into two groups static and packages/rotary. For static equipment design and data, a sheet was prepared and finally, all similar equipment was grouped into an MR. For packages, with reference to the P&ID, different equipment were listed, scope defined and based on the discussion with the consultant specific requirements were compiled in a form of MR. Which were floated to different Vendors, TBE was performed and recommendations were sent to the client for floating the purchase order. After that, all the documents produced by Vendors were reviewed at our end.
Benchmark: The project required knowledge of Carbon black technology, which is available with very limited personals. Apart from that, it required experienced personals from static, rotary and packages. Both the plant (BKT and Epsilon Carbon) are running with total capacity now.
